Under the direction of Conductor Marques L. A. Garrett and accompanied by pianist Toni Caldwell-Hall, the Cheyney University Concert Choir has performed on- and off-campus regularly as part of it's Black History series this month.   On February 29 the Concert Choir performed at Wawa's Red Roof corporate headquarters in Delaware County to the delight of a gathering of Big Brothers and Big Sisters in the employee dining room.  Soloists included Elizabeth Payne, Douglas Carson and Shanique Love.

Cathy Pulos, Wawa's Chief People Officer, greeted the group, "We are honored to host the Cheyney University Choir at our corporate offices today.  Our Associates and guests are inspired by their talent and uplifted by their spirit as we take time today to reflect on the meaning and importance of Black History Month."

The program marked the seventh concert in a series which included appearances at Exelon's Kennett Square headquarters, Thornbury AME Church, Wilmington Job Corps Center and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. To celebrate Cheyney University's 175th Anniversary, they performed A Tribute to Black Composers in Cheyney's Marian Anderson Music Center, and presented programs for Cheyney benefactors, and attendees of the 175th Founder's Day Convocation.
