The Ravi Coltrane Quartet Performs at Cheyney University April 19

According to Jazz Weekly, “When a listener finally hears the unique and original voice of Ravi Coltrane through his saxophone, they will hear an explosion of rhythmic and melodic sequences that float through the air with grace.”
The community will have the opportunity to hear Coltrane’s music in a performance at Cheyney University on April 19. It is the final program in the 2011-2012 University’s Arts and Lecture Series.
Coltrane frequently tours the world with the Ravi Coltrane Quartet, a dynamic band whose members include pianist Luis Perdomo, bassist Drew Gress and drummer E.J. Strickland. It is certain the Quartet will bring along it’s legendary robust sound to the Marian Anderson Music Center on Cheyney University’s campus.
Tickets are available for a program by critically acclaimed and Grammy™ nominated saxophonist, bandleader, and composer Ravi Coltrane. The program will be held at the Marian Anderson Theatre at Cheyney University on April 19, 2012. The program is part of the 2011-2012 Arts and Lecture Series.
