2012 Summer Sports Camps Set

The Cheyney University Athletics Department announced today that a Summer Outdoor Development Camp Series will offer youth programs throughout the summer. The camps begin in June and run through early August. Most will be held on Cheyney University's campus and all are taught by University athletic staff. Programs include
Basketball (Boys and Girls) - June 25—28 (Monday-Thursday)
Coed Day Camp ages 8-17. This camp is designed to teach dribbling, passing, defense, and shooting drills. Temple University's Hall of Famer, Marilyn Stephens, and North Carolina Central University's National Championship player, Dominique Stephens are the first brother and sister coaches to coach at the same university. Participants should bring their own lunch. Cost $150.00. Discounts available for non-profit organizations, Cheyney University employees and groups.
Bowling - July 17– August 15
Every Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 Noon to 3:00 pm at Sproul Lanes. Techniques to strengthen your game, introduce techniques, increase score and confidence are taught by pro bowler, Michael Blakeney at Sproul Lanes, Springfield PA.
Cost $195.
Youth Day Camp – July 23 –27 $175
Cheyney University Summer Youth Day Camp is a summer camping opportunity for youth ages 7-14. Hours: 8:45 am - 2:35 pm. Our goal is to teach leadership skills, decision making, dealing with problematic situations, and peer interaction through team building concepts and making healthy choices through athletics and in life. The program is run by an experienced coaching staff with varied backgrounds. All campers will experience a variety of fun-filled activities including sports, aquatics and much more.
Cost: $175
