New Scoreboard Graces O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium

August 31, 2012

Fans coming to O’Shields-Stevenson Stadium on Saturday, September 8 for the Wolves home opener against Indiana (PA) will set their eyes on a new wireless scoreboard. The board was furnished by Varsity Scoreboards and is 50% larger than the old scoreboard. The old Nevco scoreboard graced the field for at least 45 years.

“A new scoreboard was desperately needed,” stated Athletic Director Ruffin Bell and echoed by Head Football Coach Ken Lockard. “We are continuously trying to upgrade the facilities.”

Several features on the old board no longer worked and it was getting more difficult year after year to find replacement parts. New features include down and distance, time outs remaining, and ball on displays as well as a possession indicator.

The removal of the old scoreboard and installation of the new board was done by KC Sign Inc.

Kick-off for the home opener is slated for 1:00 pm.
