Wasserleben Honored by the National Football Foundation

Cheyney University starting quarterback Blaze Wasserleben was named a recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Philadelphia Chapter.  Wasserleben was one of eight Philadelphia area college football players to receive the honor at a banquet held at the Connelly Center on the campus of Villanova University earlier this month.

Wasserleben was one of eight Philadelphia area college football players to receive the honor at a banquet held at the Connelly Center on the campus of Villanova University earlier this month.

Wasserleben was one of eight Philadelphia area college football players to receive the honor at a banquet held at the Connelly Center on the campus of Villanova University in May.

“This is a great honor for Blaze and for Cheyney,” stated Cheyney Football Coach Ken Lockard.  
 
In addition to the eight collegiate athletes, the Philadelphia Chapter also recognized 32 high school players from the Philadelphia area.  Joe Eichhorn, the voice of Villanova Football, acted as Master of Ceremonies.
