The Spring 2014 Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC) Lecture Series offers a spectacular season of opportunities to learn valuable information from entrepreneurial experts across various fields related to majors offered at CU. The lectures give students knowledge in different areas of business ownership by informing, inspiring, and motivating them to start their own business as an alternative to traditional jobs.

Stacy Milner, a 25-year veteran of the entertainment industry, is bringing an exciting career recruitment program to the Cheyney University (CU) campus on Thursday, March 6 from 1 to 4 pm. Milner’s entourage will include representatives from the entertainment world who will meet and greet students and faculty. Oscar, the golden icon of the industry, will also be available for photo ops. Ruth Brice, CU's Director of Career and Professional Development, coordinated the event.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, the Cheyney University Arts and Lectures Series opens its Spring 2014 season with two performance of the historical drama “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman.” Actress Leslie McCurdy will perform her one-woman tribute to Harriet Tubman at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Marian Anderson Music Center Auditorium. While there are many plays about Tubman the abolitionist, humanitarian, and American bondswoman, none of them share her entire life story like this production.

The Lady Wolves began their cross country season today with a duel meet against rival Lincoln University. Cheyney was paced by freshman Daivona Williams. The East Orange, New Jersey native completed the newly designed 5 K cross country course in 27.50.

Cheyney University undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for the Carole Simpson Scholarship. This scholarship is available to a journalism or communications-related discipline with a concentration in broadcast with career aspirations to work in television news.

Cheyney University is hosting a Youth Day on Friday, January 11 as part of the annual PSAC “Take a Kid to a Game Day” from 10 am to 4 pm on the historic campus.
The program is free for children in elementary and middle school and their families. The purpose is to involve the community in campus events.

Blacks Educating Blacks About Sexual Health Issues, a Philadelphia organization, is presenting a safe sex workshop on campus on Wednesday November 14. The workshop begins at 12:30 pm, and at it's conclusion at 1:20 attendees will have the option of having a screening test done.

Three representatives from Crayola Corporation came to Cheyney University on Thursday, September 27, to talk to students about possible career paths within the company. Creative Director Chuck Highjack, Director of Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Kay Hughston, and Recruiter Mike Barley split up to get their message across to students all over campus.

The Bloomberg Institute is coming to Cheyney University on September 21st to give the Bloomberg Assessment Test (BAT) to students and recently graduated alumni who are interested in pursuing careers in Finance, Economics and Business. There is no charge to take the 3-hour computer-based test on campus, but preregistration is necessary.
