Cheyney Class of 1964 Makes $50,000 Pledge on 50th Anniversary of College Graduation

They wore beanies on their heads 50 years ago when they walked the Historic Quadrangle at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. On May 10, when they led the procession for the graduating Class of 2014 back at their alma mater, the women proudly wore white, while the men dressed in black.

Industry experts also say that just the All-Steinway School title alone, a universal symbol of excellence, is expected to enhance Cheyney University’s music program for the next 30 to 40 years.

Cheyney's Oldest Alumnus Dies at the Age of 103

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania’s oldest living alumnus died Monday, November 5th of a stroke. Dr. James R. Dumpson, PhD., a 1932 CU graduate, was 103 years old. “He was the oldest of my grandparents’ six children and the family looked up to him as the child who went to college, graduated, and accomplished so much in his life,” said nephew Jeff Hart, who graduated from Cheyney 50 years after his uncle.

A delegation from Maryland's Sojourner-Douglass College visited Cheyney University on Friday, September 14. While on campus, they had an opportunity to meet Cheyney University President, Michelle Howard-Vital, Vice President of University Advancement, Nancy Jones, Chief of Staff, Sheilah Vance, and Dr. Steven Hughes. The highlight of the visit was a tour of the Aquaponics facility.
