Summer Housing Information:

CHECKING-IN TO THE RESIDENCE HALL:

All students approved for summer housing can check in to Emlen Hall on the designated dates and times as listed. Students will be required to have a valid Cheyney University ID to move into Emlen Hall.  Summer charges will be added to students’ accounts once their Summer Housing Agreement & Application has been submitted.  Please make payment arrangements with the Office of the Bursar (located on the 1st floor of the Wade Wilson Building or you may contact the office at bursar@wolf.cheyney.edu) once the charges have been added to your student account.

CHECKING-OUT OF THE RESIDENCE HALL:

Please note that you will be required to check-out of your residence hall on the date that you indicated of your
Summer Housing Agreement & Application that you submitted to the Office of Residence Life and Housing.
Detailed check-out procedures will be posted throughout the residence halls prior to checkout.

Students must check-out of their rooms properly to avoid additional fees and charges.  Any student who fails to check-out properly with a Resident Advisor and complete all check-out procedures will be charged and may incur additional housing fees for the remainder of the summer and/or until the checkout process has been completed. Students are required to clean their room prior to checking out. Students should be aware that once they sign for the room key, they are considered a summer resident until they officially check-out and complete all check-out procedures. Please plan accordingly. Summer school students will not be allowed to remain on campus after 6:00pm, Thursday, August 8, 2013.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS & SINGLE ROOM REQUESTS:

Students can request a roommate as long as both students request each other and submit their Summer Housing Agreement & Application. All other requests will be assigned by the information shared on your Summer Housing Agreement & Application. Students who are not assigned a roommate must keep the unoccupied side of the room ready at all times for a new roommate to move in to the room. The number of single rooms is limited.

MEALS AND DINING:

Students are required to have a meal plan if they are living on campus and enrolled for summer classes. Please make a note of the times that the dining facility is closed when classes are not in session.

Key & ID Usage and Lock-Outs:

Safety is everyone’s business.  Students must carry their room key and valid CU ID at all times.  It is a violation of University policy to lend your room key and/or CU ID to another individual.  Students will be granted the privilege of (1) one free courtesy lock-out for the summer and permitted to gain access to their room. After the courtesy lock out, students will be billed $10 per lockout. After the third lockout, students will meet with the Assistant Director and/or be referred to the University Judicial Chair.  Please be proactive and plan accordingly.

NON-APPROVED INDIVIDUALS:

Students who have been approved to reside on campus for the summer are the only individuals who should be residing in housing.  Illegal guest(s) will be asked to leave and/or arrested for trespassing.  Students who allow these individuals into the building and/or allow illegal guest(s) will be documented and/or removed from the residence halls.
For the safety of the residential community, students are advised to adhere to all University policies and procedures.

SUMMER STAFF:

Emlen Hall will be staffed by summer Residence Life and Housing staff. The staff is here to assist you during your stay in Emlen Hall for summer school.  Should you have any suggestions and/or concerns, the staff is there for you as needed.
All summer school housing participants must be respectful, civil, and courteous to all university officials.
Additionally, the staff is also responsible for assuring that University policies and procedures are adhered to during your stay on campus. Students should be respectful and mindful of the noise level and needs of others in the residential community.

It is for these reasons that 24-Hour Quiet Hours are in effect beginning, 10:00pm, Monday, May 28, 2013 through 6:00pm, Thursday, August 8, 2013.  Students who are in violation of this policy and any other University polices will be documented and referred to the University Disciplinary Chair.  In addition, students should be aware that sanctions assessed during the summer can result in your 2013-2014 housing assignment being revoked.
