hurricane preparedness information

The safety of the students and staff in the residence halls at Cheyney University is our highest priority. Cheyney University monitors weather conditions and has an emergency plan to address weather emergencies.

Before, during, and after any emergency, we will issue notifications of campus status and other pertinent information as needed through a variety of communication mechanisms, including the CU Web site, the CU information hotline, broadcast e-mail messages, E2 campus notification, door-to-door contact by the Residence Life & Housing staff and fliers posted in key locations.
Hurricanes are strong storms that can be life-threatening as well as cause serious property-threatening hazards such as flooding, storm surge, high winds and tornadoes.

Preparation for a hurricane is the best protection against the dangers of a hurricane.
