Reasons to Support Cheyney University:

  • Cheyney has a unique legacy as America’s Oldest Historically Black Institution of Higher Education and as the only HBCU among the 14 universities that comprise the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
  • Cheyney is the antidote to the “brain drain” that negatively impacts our region. The majority of Cheyney’ students are from Pennsylvania, with the majority of this group being from the Greater Philadelphia region. Cheyney students live in our area, they go to school here and they remain here. An investment in Cheyney is an investment in your future workforce.
  • Cheyney’s historic commitment to access and affordable tuition enable many to come to Cheyney who otherwise would not pursue a post-secondary education. To this day, many Cheyney students are the first member of their family to attend college. Supporting Cheyney represents community reinvestment and workforce development.
