The festivities kick off with a longtime tradition on Wednesday, October 7 with the Mister and Miss Cheyney Coronation Ceremony at 7:30 pm in Marian Anderson Music Center. A host of Alumni and Student Government-sponsored activities are planned.

The Cheyney Cross Country teams were back in action this past weekend at the Penn State-Brandywine. The men's squad finished eighth out of nine teams and the women garnered a third place finish.

Cheyney University Receives TRIO Student Support Services Grant

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania has received a five-year TRIO Student Support Services grant totaling $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be used to provide programs and services that address retention, GPA and graduation rates among 140 low income first-generation students.

Besides carpooling with friends or catching the #119 and #120 SEPTA buses, they can grab (on a first-come basis) one of the two Zipcars parked in specially designated parking spaces at the Marcus Foster Student Center parking lot.

Wade Wilson Golf Tournament Update: July 31, 2015 - Due to unforseen circumstances at Penn Oaks Course, the Cheyney C Club will relocate the August 17 annual Wade Wilson Golf Tournament to Edgmont Country Club. Located at 5180 West Chester Pike, Edgmont, PA 19028, is a 10 minute drive from Cheyney University on PA Route 3. The change will only affect golfers and foursomes who should register at 7:30 am at Edgmont Country Club for the Tournament. All non-golfer activities are at Penn Oaks CC.

Women's Bowling Joins East Coast Conference

East Coast Conference Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff, announced the addition of women's bowling as the league's 18th championship sport. The ECC is the seventh NCAA conference to sponsor women's bowling and the second comprised of only Division II institutions. Cheyney University has joined the conference and will compete in the inaugural 2015-16 season.

Cheyney not only advances its greening initiative, but reduces its mowing cycle by half, saves natural resources and cuts carbon emissions by 50 percent.
