Required Activities
The first year of college is critical to both student retention and student success in the following years. All students at Cheyney University begin their educational journey in the University College. The program and activities are designed to assist students in achieving the essential learning outcomes of a liberal education. The University College emphasizes academic quality and excellence, advancing student achievement and success through learning communities, active student engagement, internships (career-readiness and/or graduate schools), and mentorship.
Throughout their time at Cheyney students benefit from the University College’s support services and co-curricular programming. The purpose of the required activities is to ensure a successful transition of first and second year students at Cheyney University. The goal is that they become successful during their entire college matriculation. In addition to promoting the mission of Cheyney University as a whole, the University College will create a learning environment that fosters academic commitment, responsibility and school pride.
