Dr. Wendy Roberts' AP Biology students along with Jeff Holton's Environmental Science students, all from Church Farm School, a boys school in Exton, PA, visited Cheyney University's Aquaculture Research and Education Center on September 29 to gain insight into how an aquaponics system works.

The festivities kick off with a longtime tradition on Wednesday, October 7 with the Mister and Miss Cheyney Coronation Ceremony at 7:30 pm in Marian Anderson Music Center. A host of Alumni and Student Government-sponsored activities are planned.

ZahRe Belle, a spoken word artist, singer, painter, teacher, aspiring social psychologist and art therapist, organized Letters to the Survivors, an Art Show and Open Mic Event at Cheyney University's Biddle Hall Gallery that opened September 16. Cheyney University Receives TRIO Student Support Services Grant

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania has received a five-year TRIO Student Support Services grant totaling $1.1 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will be used to provide programs and services that address retention, GPA and graduation rates among 140 low income first-generation students.

Women's Bowling Joins East Coast Conference

East Coast Conference Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff, announced the addition of women's bowling as the league's 18th championship sport. The ECC is the seventh NCAA conference to sponsor women's bowling and the second comprised of only Division II institutions. Cheyney University has joined the conference and will compete in the inaugural 2015-16 season.

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania was packed May 9 as family and friends gathered to watch the Class of 2015 walk across the stage to receive their long-awaited diplomas. The sweeping white tent on the historic quadrangle of the Nation’s 1st HBCU overflowed with well-wishers. As the University Band played Pomp and Circumstance, nearly 250 graduates processed behind Cheyney Administrators, Faculty, and Class of 1965 members who were on hand to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
