The Cheyney University 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees were recognized at a banquet planned in their honor on October 18 and in front of the crowd attending CU's homecoming football game in O’Shields Stadium the next afternoon. The committee chairs were Don Hackney and Greg McNeil.

After two years as assistant coach to Marilyn Stephens, Cheyney University alumnus Kyle Adams ('99) has taken over the reins as Head Women's Basketball coach. Adams came to Cheyney University after spending two seasons at the University of Rio Grande as an Assistant Coach. Adams began his collegiate career at Cheyney in 1999, as a volunteer Assistant Men's Basketball Coach to then Head Coach, Robert Marshall. Adams received his B.A. in Psychology from CU in 1999.

Cheyney University assistant women’s basketball coach Kyle Adams has been selected to participate in 2012 A STEP UP, a symposium for the professional development of assistant coaches presented by Felicia Hall Allen & Associates set to take place April 27th -April 29th at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Coach Adams received an Uplift Registration Scholarship to attend the symposium.

Tamara Russell recorded her first double double scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while team mate Aerie DeJesus scored 19 points in an 80—58 loss to West Chester.

Playing some of their best basketball of the season, the Lady Wolves fell 53-48 to Shippensburg. Cheyney playing without its two leading scorers, were led by senior Linda Henderson. Henderson, scored a career high 14 points, along with Kyra MGriff and Nadirah Brown were playing the final game of their collegiate career in Cope Hall.

Head Coach Marilyn Stephens, Assistant Coach Dennis White and the women’s basketball team played board games with the adults at Saint Agnes Day Shelter in West Chester. Aerie DeJesus, Brooke Garrett and Alexis Peterson also assisted with the games. Team mates Kyra McGriff and Linda Henderson led songs and did arts and crafts with the pre-school children.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams at all 16 PSAC institutions will participate in the Breast Cncer Awareness campaign. During the month of February the PSAC will be participating in national efforts to raise awareness and money for breast cancer diagnosis and research during basketball games.
