Trustee Joseph Wells
Joseph Wells has built a long and distinguished career in the Life Sciences. He currently is Director, Analytics & Business Evaluation, with CSL Behring, a research driven Biotechnology company based in King of Prussia, PA. In his role with CSL, Mr. Wells focuses on Strategic, Finance, and Research & Development projects including project and asset valuations, valuations of pipeline projects, and full finance support (financial modeling, term sheet and contract review) for Business Development projects.
Prior to CSL, he spent 3 years with Ikaria, a privately-held Biopharmaceutical based in NJ working on business development and strategic projects, 8 years with GlaxoSmithKline in Philadelphia working in several business areas across the company including the US Business (Finance and Oncology), Corporate (3 person strategy team in the CEOs office), and R&D (Business Development support).
Before working in the Life Sciences sector, Mr. Wells was an investment banker with CoreStates Securities and also spent time on Wall Street with Merrill Lynch and The First Boston Corporation. Mr. Wells received his AB in History from Princeton University in 1988 and his M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1995.
Mr. Wells is an active member of the community serving as President of the Philadelphia Club Frontiers International, a national Men’s service organization, and as a Board member for the Absalom Jones Day School, a start-up day school to be based at the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas.
He is also a Board member of iPRAXIS, a non-profit dedicated to open the doors of science and discovery to new generations through innovative educational programming. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Biotech Association, the Princeton Club of Philadelphia, the Harvard Club of Philadelphia, the Harvard Business School Club of Philadelphia, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
Mr. Wells resides in Philadelphia with his wife and son and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
